1. 18 Free Horace Silver Jazz Quintet Charts

$300.00 $0.00

Horace Silver was noted for bringing young jazz musicians out of obscurity and into the limelight. Horace was a gifted composer and arranger in addition to his band leading and piano skills, and this set of music was presented as a tribute to Horace in Asheville, NC, in September of 2016 by Rich Willey and his quintet.

These are not for sale, and are intended for educational purposes only.

Here is a set of charts Rich meticulously transcribed and/or arranged for a Horace Silver Tribute concert featuring standard jazz quintet instrumentation (the tenor saxophonist doubled on alto sax on three tunes). These Horace Silver Quintet charts are for Trumpet, Tenor/Alto Sax, Piano, Bass and Drums (with a couple of optional vocal numbers), and include the following titles:

• Mayreh • Creepin’ In • Diggin’ on Dexter • Nica’s Dream • Doodlin’ • Opus de Funk
• Peace • Pretty Eyes • Quicksilver • Sayonara Blues • The St. Vitus Dance • Strollin’
• The African Queen • The Preacher • Out of the Night Came You • Soulville
• Song For My Father • and a bonus chart on Cookin’ at the Continental.

This is a total of 18 complete quintet charts, transcribed from the original recordings complete with all the different out-chorus stuff that other people don’t always seem to include in their hastily prepared arrangements.
